Intravascular Fibrolipoma of the Femoral Vein

Annals of Vascular Surgery, 2017
Lipoma of the lower leg vein is rare, and the histopathological variant, fibrolipoma, is even rarer. Here, we report an intravascular fibrolipoma located at the junction of the deep femoral vein and the femoral vein in a 50-year-old male patient. Tumor resection and venous reconstruction with a prosthetic graft were performed.

Femoral Vein Occlusion During Hip Arthroplasty

Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, 1990
The mechanism of femoral vein occlusion when the hip joint is dislocated and manipulated during arthroplasty has been studied in fresh anatomic specimens. Flow studies show that moderate degrees of flexion and adduction in association with dislocation obstruct venous flow just distal to the femoral sheath at normal pressures and flow rates.

Central Vein Stenosis Accessed from Femoral Vein

2017
This case demonstrates the fact that, in an instance in which it is not possible to advance a guidewire across a severely stenotic lesion that appears to be a total occlusion, one should not conclude that it is untreatable until an attempt is made from the opposite direction.
