Fenestrations of cerebral arteries and their correlation with brain aneurysms

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroanatomy
Fenestration of the intracranial artery is an anatomical remnant from the embryonic development of the vascular system. A cerebral aneurysm is a focal pathological dilation of the arterial wall.

Liver Endothelia Orchestrate MASH‐Associated Macrophage Zonation Through FSTL1‐ITGA4 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Liver inflammation in MASH fundamentally hinges on the newly defined Kit/STAT2/FSTL1/ITGA4 axis. Declining endothelial Kit collapses normal hepatic zonation, driving an aberrant FSTL1 gradient that recruits pathogenic macrophages. Strikingly, targeting FSTL1‐ITGA4 with anti‐VLA4 restores spatial immune homeostasis and halts disease progression ...

Design optimization criteria for windows providing low energy demand in office buildings in Algeria

open access: yesEnvironmental and Sustainability Indicators, 2020
Much of the world’s energy demand relates to the built environment. In Algeria, residential and tertiary buildings account for more than 41% of the energy consumed.

Bioengineered Exosome‐Loaded Immunomodulatory Bioadhesive Spray Reverses Liver Fibrosis and Metabolic Dysfunction That Triggers Beneficial Gut‐Liver Crosstalk in Chronic Fatty Liver Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Umbilical cord stem cell‐derived exosomes encapsulated in an immunomodulatory bioadhesive hydrogel spray enable localized therapy, sustained vesicle delivery, macrophage polarization, suppress systemic inflammation, and mitigate glucose and insulin homeostasis impairments in MAFLD.

High Performance Commercial Fenestration Framing Systems

open access: yes, 2010
A major objective of the U.S. Department of Energy is to have a zero energy commercial building by the year 2025. Windows have a major influence on the energy performance of the building envelope as they control over 55% of building energy load, and represent one important area where technologies can be developed to save energy.

Engineering Morphological Anisotropy to Control the In Vivo Transport Dynamics, Clearance, and Biodistribution of Silica Nanocarriers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Morphological anisotropy directs the in vivo transport under physiological flow and clearance of silica nanocarriers. Increasing anisotropy reduces cellular uptake, suppresses hepatic and splenic sequestration, and prolongs systemic circulation by steering particles toward the central flow core.

A case of multiple Vertebrobasilar artery fenestration misdiagnosed as vertebral artery dissection

open access: yesBMC Neurology, 2020
Background Fenestration of vertebra-basilar artery is an uncommon congenital vascular anomaly, which is identified by incidental findings on imaging in patients presented without related symptoms or in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage secondary to ...

Leptin May Promote Eosinophilic CRSwNP Progression by Enhancing Eosinophil Chemotaxis and Angiogenesis Under a Type 2 Inflammatory Milieu

open access: yesInternational Forum of Allergy &Rhinology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyp (CRSwNP) is a heterogeneous Type 2 inflammatory disease characterized by enhanced eosinophilic infiltration. Both innate and adaptive immunity are involved in the onset and progression of CRSwNP.

Early experience with a modified preloaded system for fenestrated endovascular aortic repair [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Vascular Surgery, 2017
Preloaded endovascular delivery systems expand the anatomic eligibility for complex aortic repair by requiring only one iliac access vessel and providing a stable platform for guiding sheaths into challenging target vessels. This article reports the lessons learned and early clinical outcomes using a modified preloaded delivery system for fenestrated ...
