Nasal Epithelial Immune Signatures Are Associated With Age‐Dependent Asthma Trajectories in Early Life

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
Nasal epithelial transcriptomics identified three cytokine‐associated epithelial immune programs linked to childhood asthma phenotypes. Age‐associated epithelial polarization shifted from IFN/type‐17‐associated toward type‐2‐associated programs after 3 years of age.

Factors for Success and Failure of Allergen Immunotherapy (AIT) Trial Design in the Light of Evidence‐Based Medicine: Current Aspects 2026

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Allergen immunotherapy (AIT) has been acknowledged as the only disease‐modifying treatment for respiratory diseases since its introduction in 1911. Although the efficacy and safety have convincingly been established in numerous randomized clinical trials (RCTs), the AIT study results may vary substantially.

Mepolizumab Modifies Blood Eosinophil Proteome and Transcriptome in Severe Eosinophilic Asthma

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
This study investigates the effect of mepolizumab on the proteomic and transcriptomic profile of blood eosinophils in SEA patients. Mepolizumab reduces the migratory capacity and effector‐related molecular signatures of circulating eosinophils in SEA patients.

The utility of measuring FENO in monitoring asthmatic children

open access: yesRomanian Journal of Pediatrics, 2014
Purposes and objectives. Bronchial asthma is the most frequent chronic disease in children and in almost 50% of these cases, it occurs eosinophilic airway inflammation. The most important objective in monitoring asthma is preventing exacerbations by means of good communication between physician, patient and family, a good compliance of the latter and ...

Asthma Remission From Childhood to Young Adulthood–A Population‐Based Cohort Study

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
Among 257 participants with asthma at age 8 years, 39% achieved symptom‐based remission by age 24, 29% achieved clinical remission, and 18% achieved complete remission. Male sex increased the likelihood of symptom‐based remission, while food sensitization and overweight/obesity decreased the likelihood.

Rademikibart for Asthma With Type 2 Biomarkers: Exploratory Subgroup Analyses From a Phase 2b Randomized Clinical Trial

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
This study reports exploratory and predominantly post hoc subgroup analyses, according to baseline eosinophil count and FeNO levels. In adults with moderate‐to‐severe uncontrolled asthma, rademikibart produced rapid and sustained improvements in lung function and asthma control.

FeNO and Asthma Treatment in Children

open access: yesMedicine, 2015
Traditional asthma treatments are typically adjusted in children with asthma using symptoms and spirometry. Treatments tailored in accordance to inflammatory markers, such as fraction of exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO) or sputum eosinophils, are increasing in use.

Relationship between Fractional Exhaled Nitric Oxide and Forced Oscillometric Technique in the Assessment of Asthma

open access: yesMedical Journal of Babylon
Background: Fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO) and forced oscillometric technique (FOT) represent noninvasive and sensitive tools for measuring airway inflammation and resistance, respectively, but the studies that use FeNO and FOT to assess patients
