The value of FeNO measurement in childhood asthma: uncertainties and perspectives [PDF]
Asthma is considered an heterogeneous disease, requiring multiple biomarkers for diagnosis and management. Fractional exhaled nitric oxide in exhaled breath (FeNO) was the first useful non-invasive marker of airway inflammation in asthma and still is the most widely used.

Steric modulation of nitric oxide photodissociation kinetics in iron–nitrosyl complexes
Subtle steric modification within a pyridinophane ligand framework modulates nitric oxide photodissociation kinetics in iron–nitrosyl complexes. Structural and electrochemical analyses reveal that modest ligand‐environment variations are reflected in differences in NO photoreactivity.

The value of FeNO measurement in asthma management: the motion against FeNO to help manage childhood asthma – reality bites [PDF]
Since exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO) was first demonstrated to be raised in asthmatic patients in the early 1990s, there has been a strong interest in its potential role in the diagnosis and management of asthma. This culminated in 2003 when the US Food and Drug Administration cleared the NIOX nitric oxide analyser for clinical application in patients ...
