Impact of fermented total mixed rations on intake, VFA and methane production of dairy heifers
Indian Journal of Animal Research, 2017The objective of this study was to determine the effect of feeding two fermented total mixed ration (FTMR) on methane production in dairy heifers. Four Holstein Friesian dairy heifers with mean body weight (BW) of 301.1 ± 42.2 kg were used in a simple cross-over design trial.

Abstract The objectives of this study were to evaluate the effects of feeding pelleted total mixed ration (PTMR) on growth performance, ruminal fermentation characteristics, and gastrointestinal microflora of fattening lambs. A total of 100 crossbred (Dorper sheep × Small-tail Han Sheep, DH) ram lambs at 120 d age with similar body weight (BW, 34.9 ±

This study was conducted to evaluate potential of Moringa oleifera seed oil (MOSO) to modulate rumen microflora to mitigate methane (CH4) production in different total mixed rations (TMRs). Three TMRs with different roughage (R) to concentrate (C) ratio were used as substrates (R70:C30, R50:C50 and R30:C70) for in vitro fermentation study using batch ...

AbstractMown herbage of timothy–meadow fescue (dry matter 218 (LDM) or 539 (HDM) g kg−1) was ensiled in laboratory silos to evaluate silage additives. For LDM silage, additives including formic acid (a blend of formic acid, sodium formate, propionic acid, benzoic acid, glycerol and another blend of formic acid and ammonium formate, both applied at 5 L ...

AbstractThis study was conducted to assess the effects of fermented total mixed ration (FTMR) on the growth performance, carcass and meat quality traits of Hanwoo steers. The present study evidenced that the FTMR had a strong effect on dry matter intake, body weight, daily gain, slaughter weight and carcass characteristics compared with control animals.

Abstract This experiment was designed to study effects of exogenous fibrolytic enzymes on digestibility and ruminal fermentation of total mixed rations (TMR) with different forage:concentrate (F:C) ratios. The experimental design was a 6×6 Latin square with six ruminally cannulated Ramboulliet lambs (58 ± 7.4 kg body weight) used in a 3×2 factorial ...
