Interactions of Ferric Ions with Olive Oil Phenolic Compounds
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2005The ferric complexing capacity of four phenolic compounds, occurring in olives and virgin olive oil, namely, oleuropein, hydroxytyrosol, 3,4-dihydroxyphenylethanol-elenolic acid (3,4-DHPEA-EA), and 3,4-dihydroxyphenylethanol-elenolic acid dialdehyde (3,4-DHPEA-EDA), and their stability in the presence of ferric ions were studied.

Mediating effects of ferric chelate compounds in microbial fuel cells
Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry and Interfacial Electrochemistry, 1983Abstract The performance of bio-fuel cells containing Escherichia coli , glucose and a series of ferric chelate reagents was studies. The measured coulombic outputs indicate that the most of the compounds work effectively as electron-transfer mediators in the fuel cells.

Magnetic properties of some high spin ferric heme compounds
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - General Subjects, 1971Abstract Using a crystal field model, and generalized expressions for magnetic properties, the magnetization, susceptibilities and effective magnetic moments of a series of high spin heme compounds whose zero-field characteristics are known have been calculated as a function of both magnetic field strength and temperature.

Ferric(III) Chloride Promoted Electrophilic Thiocyanation of Aromatic and Heteroaromatic Compounds.
ChemInform, 2005Indoles, oxindoles and aromatic amino compounds undergo smooth thiocyanation with ammonium thiocyanate in the presence of anhydrous FeCl 3 in dichloromethane under mild conditions to afford the corresponding 3-indolyl and4-aryl thiocyanates, respectively, in high yields with excellent selectivity. The use of ferric chloride makes it quite simple, more

Are ferric chloride intercalated graphite compounds air stable?
Synthetic Metals, 1983Abstract Mossbauer spectroscopy has been used as a tool to analyze the effect of long term exposure to air on ferric chloride intercalated graphite samples. After periods of about a year three phenomena occur in sequence: there is a migration of some FeCl 3 from the sample, some of the FeCl 3 is converted into (FeCl 4 ) − and finally the sample ...

Electron-microscopy study of the ferric chloride/graphite compound
Carbon, 1967Abstract The direction of the Burgers vector of the dislocations bounding the intercalated ferric chloride layers in the interlamellar compound of graphite and ferric chloride has been determined by extinction of the contrast and is found to be perpendicular to the c -planes. From this result the conclusion is drawn that graphite preserves its a b

AbstractThe influence of ferric acetylacetonate [Fe(acac)3] on the photodegradation of model compounds of polyethylene (PE) was examined. By studying electron‐spin‐resonance (ESR) spectra of photoirradiated compounds such as 1‐octene and 1,7‐octadiene, which contain carbon double bonds, Fe(acac)3 was found to accelerate the formation of allyl radical ...

Ferric chloride‐Graphite Intercalation Compounds as Anode Materials for Li‐ion Batteries
ChemSusChem, 2013AbstractFerric chloride‐graphite intercalation compounds (FeCl3–GICs) with stage 1 and stage 2 structures were synthesized by reacting FeCl3 and expanded graphite (EG) in air in a stainless‐steel autoclave. As rechargeable Li‐ion batteries, these FeCl3–GICs exhibit high capacity, excellent cycling stability, and superior rate capability, which could be
