Predicting the Ms temperature of lean alloyed ferritic–austenitic stainless steels

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
A set of laboratory hot-rolled and thermally cycled 19–22 wt% Cr lean alloyed ferritic–austenitic stainless steels were studied with respect to calculated equilibrium austenite composition and experimental martensite start (Ms) temperature.

Comparative experiment of steel bar corrosion at concrete construction joints

open access: yesFrontiers in Materials, 2022
Introduction: Construction joint is common and even inevitable in most of the reinforcement concrete structures. This study was to assess the effect of construction joints on chloride-induced corrosion of reinforcing steel in concrete. Methods: Test ...

Control of welding residual stress for dissimilar laser welded materials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The most common problem of welding dissimilar metals (DMWs) with respect to residual stresses is the differences in the coefficient of thermal expansion and heat conductivity of the two welded metals.

Influence of Heat Treatment Temperature on Crevice and Pitting Corrosion of UNS S32205 Duplex Stainless Steel

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Heat treatments that alter the proportions of austenite and ferrite phases or induce the precipitation of phases such as sigma in duplex stainless steel UNS S32205 make it more susceptible to pitting and crevice corrosion. However, the effects of these treatments are not always evident when analyzed using the cyclic polarization technique.

Effect of Postweld Heat Treatment on Laser‐Welded Duplex Stainless Steel: Crystallographic Patterns and Fatigue Behavior

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Laser welding of duplex stainless steel disrupts phase balance, promotes nitride precipitation, and reduces fatigue resistance. Postweld heat treatment restores austenite and dissolves nitrides, but the resulting crystallography and phase morphology still impair fatigue performance.

Modeling of Ni Diffusion Induced Austenite Formation in Ferritic Stainless Steel Interconnects [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Ferritic stainless steel interconnect plates are widely used in planar solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) or electrolysis cell (SOEC) stacks. During stack production and operation, nickel from the Ni/YSZ fuel electrode or from the Ni contact component diffuses

Austenitic-ferritic stainless steel containing niobium [PDF]

open access: yesRem: Revista Escola de Minas, 2013
The austenitic-ferritic stainless steels present a better combination of mechanical properties and stress corrosion resistance than the ferritic or austenitic ones. The microstructures of these steels depend on the chemical compositions and heat treatments.

Moment‐curvature behavior of continuous reinforced concrete slab strips—Experimental determination and modeling

open access: yesStructural Concrete, EarlyView.
Abstract With the market introduction of new reinforcing materials, such as corrosion‐resistant steel, the effect of their stress–strain relationship on the ductility of reinforced concrete structures needs to be evaluated. Their moment‐curvature behavior significantly influences bending moment redistributions, rotation capacity, and deformation at ...

Investigations on the passive and pitting behaviors of the multiphase stainless steel in chlorine atmosphere

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
Multiphase stainless steel is a kind of stainless steel that obtains good mechanical properties. Nevertheless, the passive and pitting behaviors of multiphase stainless steel remain inadequately elucidated.

Investigation of Hot Rolling Influence on the Explosive-Welded Clad Plate

open access: yesMedžiagotyra, 2016
The microstructure, the shear strength and tensile strength of stainless steel explosive-welded clad plate at different rolling reduction were studied. The mechanical properties of the explosive-welded and explosive-rolled clad plates were experimentally
