Medium‐Cycle Fatigue Behavior of Three Metallic Materials and a Welded Steel Following Gaseous Hydrogen Soaking

open access: yesFatigue &Fracture of Engineering Materials &Structures, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates the impact of hydrogen soaking on the medium‐cycle fatigue behavior of various metallic materials commonly used in gas transmission pipelines. The tested materials include ex‐service gray cast iron, ex‐service X52 carbon steel, brass, and welded X52 carbon steel.

Effect of PWHT and Electrical Parameters on Austenitic Phase, Sigma Phase and Corrosion in Duplex Steels S32205

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 4, April 2026.
Welding power and post‐weld heat treatment (PWHT) at 850°C influence phase transformations in S32205 duplex stainless steel, promoting sigma phase formation and reducing corrosion resistance. PWHT at 850°C also replicates HAZ‐like microstructures in base metal, enabling improved characterization of weld joint properties.

Behaviour of eccentrically loaded concrete-filled rectangular ferritic stainless steel tubular slender columns: Numerical modelling and design

open access: yesCase Studies in Construction Materials
Ferritic stainless steel achieves a lower and steady price level due to low nickel content compared to duplex and austenitic stainless steels. Accordingly, the combination of ferritic stainless steel tube and concrete will have better application ...

Configuration Optimization Design of Magnetic Circuit for Large Magnetostrictive Devices Based on TbDyFe Alloy

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Reliable operation of high‐performance magnetostrictive devices, composed of the giant magnetostrictive material (GMM), that is, the TbDyFe alloy, critically depends on an optimally tailored bias magnetic field. Sufficient intensity and uniformity are essential to induce the ideal initial strain in the GMM, enabling peak reciprocating output ...

High temperature oxidation behavior of the AISI 430A and AISI 430E stainless steels in Ar/H2/H2O atmosphere

open access: yesMaterials Research, 2008
The high temperature oxidation behavior of two ferritic stainless steels type AISI 430A and AISI 430E is examined at low oxygen pressure and high temperatures. The AISI 430A steel is ferritic up to 860 °C. Above this temperature, this steel is bi-phased:

Some remarks on particle size effects on the abrasion of a range of Fe based alloys [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The low-stress three body abrasion behaviour of a range of steels was investigated. The tests were carried out in a rubber wheel tester (according to ASTM G65-94, reapproved in 2000) at room temperature.

Multifaceted Behavior and Functional Versatility of Ferritic Stainless Steels, Part I: Applications and Processing, a Review

open access: yessteel research international, Volume 97, Issue 3, Page 1201-1225, March 2026.
This review investigates the processing‐microstructure‐property relationships in ferritic stainless steels (FSSs). It highlights advances in deformation behavior, heat treatments, surface modifications, and alloying effects. Theoretical models, including Johnson‐Mehl‐Avrami‐Kolmogorov, Arrhenius, nucleation theory, and diffusion theories, are discussed

Influence Mechanism of Elemental Ce on the Equiaxed Crystal Ratio of 430 Ferrite Stainless Steel [PDF]

open access: yesTeshugang
Taking the deep processing properties of 430 ferritic stainless steel as the background, the influence mechanism of rare earth Ce on the equiaxed crystal ratio of 430 ferritic stainless steel was studied.
