Finite Element Methods for Coupled Problems in Ferrohydrodynamics [PDF]
The interaction between a magnetisable fluid and an external magnetic field gives rise to several interesting phenomena in ferrohydrodynamics. Our mathematical models and solution strategies are mainly focused on cases in which the magnetic liquid exhibits a free surface which is not known a-priori.

Poisson brackets method in ferrohydrodynamics
AbstractThe dynamics of ideal ferrofluids with internal rotation and frozen-in magnetization is discussed on the basis of Poisson brackets method. The magnetization relaxation equation is derived from requirement of irreversible thermodynamics that the local rate of entropy production is positive for arbitrary field deficiency.

A Note on the Analytical Treatment in Ferrohydrodynamics
A new complete set of basic equations for magnetic suspensions is derived on the theory of micropolar fluids developed by Eringen and a solution to these basic equations is obtained analytically for a steady motion of magnetic suspensions in a circular pipe which is placed in a homogeneous magnetic field parallel to the flow direction.

On the role of momentum tensions in micropolar ferrohydrodynamics
The steady flows with straight stream lines of micropolar ferrofluid are considered. The tangential discontinuities appearing in such flows of partially dissipative ferrofluid are studied. It is illustrated that momentum tensions (couple stress) are of primary importance in the investigation of those discontinuities and in constructing solutions in the

Hybrid Isothermal Model for the Ferrohydrodynamic Chemically Reactive Species*
Abstract A hybrid isothermal model for the homogeneous-heterogeneous reactions in ferrohydrodynamic boundary layer flow is established. The characteristics of Newtonian heating and magnetic dipole in a ferrofluid due to a stretchable surface is analyzed for three chemical species.
