A Generative AI‐Assisted Piezo‐MEMS Ultrasound Device for Plant Dehydration Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces a complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor (CMOS)‐compatible wearable piezoelectric micromachined ultrasound transducers (PMUTs) that sandwiches the leaf (PMUT–Leaf–PMUT, PLP) and employs generative artificial intelligence for real‐time analysis.

Close kin influences on fertility behavior [PDF]

open access: yes
Family members are uniquely situated to influence the decision-making of their kin in nearly every facet of life. We examine the importance of social interactions in fertility outcomes by assessing family members’ scope of influence on their fellow kin’s

Therapeutic Repair of Sperm Quality Decline Caused by Polytetrafluoroethylene

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Exposure to PTFE (teflon), a commonly used microplastic in non‐stick cookware, significantly reduces sperm quality in both humans and mice. Specifically, PTFE induces the disruption of sperm cytoskeleton and F‐actin assembly through targeting SKAP2 in haploid spermatid.

The Critical Role of Enhanced OXPHOS and Mitochondrial Hyperpolarization in Simulated Microgravity‐Induced Oocyte Maturation Arrest

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Simulated microgravity induces distinct mitochondrial hyperactivation patterns‐elevated OXPHOS and MMP‐which accelerate meiosis without SAC failure but delays MTOC coalescence, leading to spindle defects and meiotic arrest. Prolonging M‐phase restores MTOC assembly and oocyte maturation.

Manipulating Unisexual–Sexual Reproduction Transition to Engineer Genome‐Reconstructed Polyploids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study developed an efficient approach to generate genome‐reconstructed polyploids involving unisexual gynogenetic Carassius gibelio, sexual C. auratus, and sexual C. cuvieri. The selected superior clone inherited gynogenesis ability of C. gibelio and herpesvirus resistance of wild C.

The increasing importance of economic conditions on fertility [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper investigates whether there has been a fundamental change in the importance of economic conditions on fertility. Through the 1980s econometric studies had found at best a mixed, neutral or negative effect of economic conditions on fertility ...
