Festuca violacea aggr. Artbeschreibung: 15-50 cm hoch, horstig. Blätter am Blütenstängel flach oder offen rinnig, 1-3 mm breit, mit bis 0,5 mm langem, gestutztem Blatthäutchen. Blätter am Grund der Blütenstängel und an den sterilen Trieben borstenförmig eingerollt, 0,3-0,6 mm dick, im Querschnitt 5eckig, glänzend grasgrün.

Festuca varia aggr. Artbeschreibung: 25-50 cm hoch, in festen Horsten. Blätter borstenförmig eingerollt, starr, stechend, ca. 1 mm dick. Blatthäutchen 0,5-2 mm lang, gestutzt oder gerundet. Rispe 3-8 cm lang, locker, aufrecht oder etwas nickend. Ährchen 8-12 mm lang, gelbgrün. Deckspelze +/- stumpf, ohne oder mit kurzer Granne.

This chapter describes a protocol that allows for the generation of a large number of transgenic tall fescue plants by Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation.
