Efficient root metabolism improves drought resistance of Festuca arundinacea
AbstractFestuca arundinacea is a model to work on the mechanisms of drought resistance in grasses. The crucial components of that resistance still remain not fully recognized. It was suggested that deep root system could be a crucial trait for drought avoidance strategy but the other components of root performance under water deficit have not paid much

Chemical control strategies for Poa annua in managed turfgrass systems
Abstract Poa annua L. is a widespread and persistent weed in managed turfgrass systems, exhibiting both annual and short‐lived perennial growth habits. Effective management requires an integrated approach, with chemical herbicides remaining a primary tool.

Seed factors involved in early seedling establishment of Festuca arundinacea (tall fescue) : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Science in Plant Biology and Biotechnology at Massey University, New Zealand [PDF]
New Zealand pastures are commonly based on vigorously growing Lolium (ryegrass) species. In many situations, however, it is often advantageous to combine the vigorous qualities of Lolium species with the versatility of other species such as Festuca ...

Vegetation development in sown field margins and on adjacent ditch banks [PDF]
The creation of temporal and newly sown field margins for 6 years is a common agri-environment scheme (AES) in the Netherlands. Conservation profits resulting from AES vary over different areas and need further studying.

Chemical profile of Festuca arundinacea extract showing allelochemical activity [PDF]
The allelopathic potential of fescue (Festuca arundinacea Shreb.) was investigated under field and laboratory conditions. In the field, incorporation of fescue aboveground biomass into the soil provided an effective weed control as it significantly reduced both the number and the dry weight of all weed species. The effect on weeds was species specific.

Peanut response following soybean grown full‐season or double‐cropped after wheat in North Carolina
Abstract Including soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] in the previous cropping cycle can adversely affect peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) yield by increasing disease incidence and populations of plant‐parasitic nematodes in the soil. The impact of double‐cropping wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and soybean versus full‐season soybean (referred to as the soybean
