Contribution of fetal brain MRI in management of severe fetal anemia

European Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Biology, 2018
Intrauterine transfusion (IUT) has changed fetal anemia prognosis. However, long-term neurodevelopmental outcome is altered in 5% of children. Our objective was to study the contribution of fetal MRI to diagnosis brain lesions in case of fetal anemia.Retrospective monocentric descriptive study from 2005 to 2016, including all patients followed for ...

Sinusoidal fetal heart rate pattern and severe fetal anemia.

Obstetrics and gynecology, 1977
This report describes a case of a sinusoidal fetal heart rate (FHR) pattern encountered in a fetus at 34 weeks' gestation during antepartum fetal stress testing because of maternal hypertension. Delivery of the fetus was accomplished, and the newborn was found to be severely anemic and hypotensive due to a massive fetomaternal transfusion.

[Fetomaternal macrotransfusion with severe fetal anemia].

Zentralblatt fur Gynakologie, 1985
A fetomaternal macrotransfusion endangers fetal life. This report describes a fetomaternal macrotransfusion of about 300 ml blood. Ante partum and intra partum monitoring showed a mild fetal tachycardia. After spontaneous delivery the newborn was severe anemic and has a mild hepatosplenomegaly and edema.
