Fetal-Maternal Hemorrhage: A Case and Literature Review

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Perinatology Reports, 2012
Nearly all pregnancies include an insignificant hemorrhage of fetal blood into the maternal circulation. In some cases, the hemorrhage is large enough to compromise the fetus, resulting in fetal demise, stillbirth, or delivery of a severely anemic infant.

Hydrocolloid‐Based Multiwavelength Stretchable QD‐OLED Patch for Simultaneous Neonatal Jaundice and Dermatitis Treatment with Biosignal Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Comparison of therapeutic and diagnostic applications of a surface‐emitting light source with multiwavelength emission characteristics. Abstract Conventional light‐emitting‐diode‐based light sources suffer from rigidity, localized heating, and poor adaptability to skin deformation, limiting their use in skin‐attached medical devices.

Metronidazole‐Loaded Cyclodextrin Nanogels for Antibacterial Therapy and Microbiota Regulation in Periodontitis

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A methacrylamide β‐cyclodextrin‐based nanogel (MACD nGel) is developed to load the antimicrobial drug Metronidazole (MNZ) for topical delivery for the treatment of periodontitis. It is demonstrated that cyclodextrin nanogel (nGel) loaded with metronidazole provides an efficient drug delivery route but also has potential clinical applications and offers

Adhesion molecules in the maternal–fetal interface in healthy pregnancies and preeclampsia

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica
Introduction Adhesion molecules are markers of endothelial activation, and they are involved in placentation and inflammation. We compared levels of vascular cell adhesion molecule‐1 (VCAM1), intercellular adhesion molecule‐1 (ICAM1), and E‐selectin ...

A Sacrificial 3D Printed Vessel‐on‐Chip Demonstrates a Versatile Approach to Model Granulation Tissue

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A novel method that combines 3D printing and organ‐on‐chip technology enables the creation of hollow channels lined with endothelial cells through a fibroblast‐populated connective tissue matrix. The model supports stable metabolic culture conditions, angiogenic sprouting, and immune cell migration, thereby demonstrating an easy and versatile method to

Elevated Middle Cerebral Artery Peak Systolic Velocity in a Nonanemic Fetus with Alpha-Thalassemia Trait

open access: yesObstetrics and Gynecology International, 2009
Background. Elevated middle cerebral artery peak systolic velocity (MCA-PSV) has been reported in nonanemic fetuses following fetal transfusion, and has been attributed to a major population of red blood cells (RBCs) with an adult mean corpuscular volume
