The relationship between human placental morphometry and ultrasonic measurements of utero-placental blood flow and fetal growth. [PDF]
INTRODUCTION: Ultrasonic fetal biometry and arterial Doppler flow velocimetry are widely used to assess the risk of pregnancy complications. There is an extensive literature on the relationship between pregnancy outcomes and the size and shape of the ...

This study presents guanidinium‐ and indole‐functionalized polyphosphoesters as degradable, non‐viral gene delivery vectors. Through precise tuning of charge density and hydrophobicity, these polymers form stable polyplexes with low toxicity. Remarkably, minor structural changes yield up to 200‐fold differences in transfection efficiency, highlighting ...

Sex differences in umbilical artery Doppler indices: a longitudinal study
Background Sexual dimorphism in placental size and function has been described. Whether this influences the clinically important umbilical artery (UA) waveform remains controversial, although a few cross-sectional studies have shown sex differences in UA

Epirubicin. A new entry in the list of fetal cardiotoxic drugs? Intrauterine death of one fetus in a twin pregnancy. Case report and review of literature [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Current knowledge indicate that epirubicin administration in late pregnancy is almost devoid of any fetal cardiotoxicity. We report a twin pregnancy complicated by breast cancer in which epirubicin administration was causatively linked to ...

Fetal Dual Doppler Echocardiography
ABSTRACT Dual Doppler echocardiography is a recently developed technique performed using an instrument with two separate sample gates, allowing simultaneous recording of signals from two locations. We describe the use of dual Doppler echocardiography to assess fetal cardiac rhythm.

Ultrasound in Women's Health: Mechanisms, Applications, and Emerging Opportunities
As healthcare moves toward decentralization, ultrasound technologies are evolving from strictly imaging tools in clinical settings into versatile diagnostic and therapeutic platforms, with growing roles addressing women's health needs. This review highlights how ultrasound's underlying physical mechanisms can be harnessed to reduce disparities in women'

A simple and cost-effective method for cable root detection and extension measurement in estuary wetland forests [PDF]
This work presents the development of a low-cost method to measure the length cable roots of black mangrove (Avicennia germinans) trees to define the boundaries of central part of the anchoring root system (CPRS) without the need to fully expose root ...

Decoding Human Placental Cellular and Molecular Responses to Obesity and Fetal Growth
Women with obesity often deliver large‐for‐gestational‐age (LGA) infants. Single‐nucleus RNA sequencing of term placenta reveals that hypoxia and TNF‐α signaling in syncytiotrophoblasts are featured in maternal obesity, but inflammatory signatures in Hofbauer cells and response to lipid or carbohydrate metabolism in fibroblasts are specific to LGA.
