Anesthesia for fetal surgery

open access: yesColombian Journal of Anesthesiology, 2012
Introduction: Fetal surgery is making huge strides in medicine due to the breakthroughs in prenatal medicine that have opened a window into early diagnosis of abnormalities which may be subject to prenatal interventions. Fetal interventional procedures range from minimally invasive surgery on the fetus, the placenta or membranes, to open techniques ...

Canagliflozin Alleviates Diabetic Glomerular Endothelial Injury via Melibiose in a Microbiota‐Dependent Manner

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Canagliflozin treatment reshapes the gut microbiota in DKD and elevates levels of melibiose, a metabolite derived from Roseburia intestinalis. Melibiose directly binds to and enhances the enzymatic activity of glyoxalase 1, leading to decreased methylglyoxal accumulation.

A 3D Human Bone and Bone Marrow‐on‐a‐Chip Model for In Vitro Bone Remodeling and Immune Cell Maintenance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a human Bone (and Bone Marrow)‐on‐a‐Chip model based on native human bone scaffolds and autologous cells. Dynamic perfusion and sequential cell seeding replicate the physiological bone remodeling process in vitro, enabling the long‐term culture of functional, mature bone marrow immune subpopulations.

Combating Inflammation and Promoting Anabolism in Osteoarthritic Cartilage Defect With an MMP13‐Sensing Dual‐Drug Scaffold

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Osteoarthritis (OA) is a widespread degenerative joint condition marked by progressive cartilage breakdown, and a chronic inflammatory microenvironment, where conventional therapies largely fail to halt disease progression. To address this unmet need, an intra‐articularly implantable, disease‐responsive scaffold was developed for combinatorial

Key ultrasound predictors in the prenatal assessment of congenital pulmonary airway malformation: a single-center experience

open access: yesFrontiers in Pediatrics
BackgroundThis study assesses the sensitivity and specificity of congenital pulmonary airway malformation (CPAM) Volume Ratio (CVR) in predicting the need for fetal therapy (FT) and explores the role of additional ultrasound indicators, including the ...

Chemoproteomic Identification of AKT2 as a Paclitaxel‐Binding Protein via C─C Bond‐Linked Probe PTX‐4 in Paclitaxel‐Resistant Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Breast cancer remains one of the most prevalent malignancies among women, and taxane‐based chemotherapies such as paclitaxel and docetaxel are central to standard treatment regimens. However, drug resistance in breast cancer limits therapeutic efficacy and contributes to recurrence and metastasis.
