fff musings 2021 (the abecedary)

2022
fff is an organization dedicated to bringing the three themes of food, feminism, and fermentation together / we aim to invite discussants, and engage in conversations across culinary, health, and educational sectors. In 2021, we built an abecedary, or ABC book, of keywords common to the three domains.

Surface Phenomena in Sedimentation FFF

Journal of Liquid Chromatography & Related Technologies, 1997
Abstract The influence of the surface phenomena on the particle sedimentation in Sedimentation FFF is examined theoretically. It is shown that the tangential transport of surfactant in the particle surface layer, where the surfactant species are accumulated, causes the tangential concentration gradient of the surfactant, and the additional ...

Validation of differential FFF

2009
In this talk the general concepts of validation of an analytical method are introduced, and applied to differential FFF method (1). Chemometrics will give us the basis for defining method parameters, such as the decision, detection and quantification limits as a function of both the signal error and the blank value.

Field-Flow Fractionation (FFF)

2017
Field-Flow Fractionation techniques (FFF) are size-based separation methods first described in 1966 by Giddings. They belong to the family of liquid chromatographic techniques, but they are operated without any stationary phase.Yet, they have the unique ability to separate an extremely broad range of molecules, macromolecules and particles, and in ...

Cell Sorting with FFF

In this chapter, we aim to develop, from a practical point of view, the interest of sedimentation field-flow fractionation (SdFFF), a subtechnique of the field-flow fractionation (FFF) family, exploiting external sedimentation fields to achieve label-free, biophysical cell sorting.
