Contributions to make modern Romanian bread winter wheat more resistant to FHB
Cereal Research Communications, 2008Results of work to transfer FHB resistance from Sumai 3 to modern Romanian winter semi dwarf wheat and chances to obtain transgressive segregation for resistance are presented. Four F2 populations of Sumai 3 top-crossed to advanced winter lines, with various levels of FHB resistance were included in the study.

Identification and genome-wide association analysis of wheat FHB resistance genes
Plant DiseaseFusarium head blight (FHB) is a devastating fungal disease in wheat, causing significant yield losses and deterioration of grain quality under severe conditions. In this study, a genome-wide association study was conducted with 448 accessions using genotyping data generated by the 660K SNP array.

Impact of wheat height to FHB resistance
2010The relationship between plant height and resistance to fusarium head blight (FHB) has a genetic basis. It is believed that the genes controlling FHB resistance and those that affect the plant height are associated , or it is pleiotropy where genes for low stem promote higher FHB sensitivity.

Quality preservation in FHB attack due to antioxidant system
2018Biotic stress leads to the formation of ROS which can harm the plants. Due to that plants have evolved an antioxidant defense system that includes non-enzymatic compounds, like ascorbate, glutathione, tocopherol, carotenoids, flavonoids and enzymes such as superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), guaiacol peroxidase (POD), ascorbate peroxidase (APX)

PRIMJENA FLUORESCENCIJE KLOROFILA U ISTRAŽIVANJIMA UTJECAJA FHB NA OZIMU PŠENICU
2022Fusarium head blight (FHB) is an important disease of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) which can affect grain yield and quality as well as the safety of wheat products due to mycotoxin contaminations. Wheat varieties can significantly differ in their susceptibility to FHB.

Overexpression of the optimized Vitreoscilla hemoglobin (VHb) gene and the native flavohemoglobin (FHb) gene in Aureobasidium melanogenum P16 rendered a V6 strain and a F44 strain to overproduce pullulan compared to that produced by their wild type strain P16.

Associations between morphological and FHB traits in a soft red winter wheat population
Euphytica, 2019Fusarium head blight (FHB) is a destructive disease in wheat (Triticum aestivum) and other small grains. Morphological traits can act as barrier between pathogen and plant and provide a passive form of resistance to disease. The objectives were: (1) to phenotype 250 soft red winter wheat (SRWW) breeding lines and cultivars for morphological traits in ...

Fusarium head blight (FHB), is a fungal disease threatening wheat production and food security. Fhb1, the most potent anti-FHB gene, is widely used in wheat breeding. However, few varieties are highly resistant to FHB. It is thus critical to develop FHB-resistant cultivars using the appropriate genes.

COMPARATIVE PHYSILOGICAL RESPONSE OF WINTER WHEAT VARIETIES UNDER FHB STRESS
2018Fusarium head blight (FHB) is destructive wheat disease which greatly affects wheat yield and end- use quality. This study can contribute in understanding of potential protection of winter wheat varieties by photoinhibition and antioxidant system under biotic stress.
