High Efficiency Module of Fiber Coupled Diode Laser

Chinese Journal of Luminescence, 2011
With the increase of LD application in the field of laser processing, the efficiency of the fiber coupled modular based on diode laser arrays is rather low, which can not meet the need of low costing for laser processing,so it is very important to develop a higher efficiency modular of fiber coupled diode lasers. In this paper,we achieved a higher ...

Efficient Acoustic-Optical Fiber Coupling with Wire Horn Structure

Frontiers in Optics + Laser Science 2023 (FiO, LS), 2023
This paper reports on a wire horn structure to enhance acoustic-optical fiber coupling. Compared with the conventional schemes, it was proved to enhance the ultrasonic wave peak-to-peak amplitude coupling efficiency by up to 7.9 times.

Pointing errors effect on fiber coupling efficiency for Gaussian-beam wave through atmospheric turbulence channel in FSO links

Optics Communications, 2019
In this paper, we theoretically study the pointing errors effect on fiber coupling efficiency for Gaussian-beam wave with consideration of atmospheric turbulence.

Fiber coupling efficiency of Gaussian-Schell model beams in an ocean to fiber link with a Zernike tilt correction.

Applied Optics, 2018
The fiber coupling efficiency of Gaussian-Schell model beams propagating through the oceanic turbulence of the Zernike tilt correction is studied. We derive the expression of the Zernike tilt corrected wave structure function.

Single-mode fiber coupling efficiency with graded-index rod lenses

Applied Optics, 1994
Losses are calculated for the single-mode graded-index- (GRIN-) lens coupler. The main advantage of this coupling system is large separation between fibers with small power loss. The excess loss of the GRIN-lens coupler is due primarily to the misalignments of the GRIN lenses and is most sensitive to angular tilt rather than lateral offset or end ...

Develop the fiber coupling efficiency based on SPGD control algorithm

9th International Symposium on Advanced Optical Manufacturing and Testing Technologies: Optical Test, Measurement Technology, and Equipment, 2019
In the satellite-to-ground laser communication, the beacon light is affected by atmospheric turbulence, atmospheric scattering and atmospheric absorption, so there is a coupling error. And the receiving end of ATP system is affected by random disturbance which lead to the initial coupling place change.

Increased coupling efficiency of fiber coupled modules by smile compensation

High-Power Diode Laser Technology XVII, 2019
A technique is experimentally demonstrated which allows for the compensation of the smile of a laser diode bar using a beam transformation system and a telescope array. The beam transformation system consists of a fast-axis collimator and an array of biconvex cylindrical lenses, which rotates each collimated beam by 90°.

Alignment and efficiency-monitoring method of high-power fiber-to-fiber coupling

, 2020
High-power fiber-to-fiber coupling is extensively used in fiber laser applications, and its performance is determined by coupling efficiency. We demonstrate a novel method for alignment and monitoring efficiency by detecting backscattering power at the ...

High efficiency fiber coupling to silicon sandwiched slot waveguides

Optics Communications, 2008
Abstract The design of a fiber coupler for high efficiency light coupling to silicon sandwiched slot waveguides is reported. The proposed fiber coupler is based on the inverted taper approach. Parameters have been optimized to maximize coupling efficiency for λ = 1550 nm and TM polarization.
