The first demonstration of narrowband spectral filtering of multimode light on a 3D integrated photonic chip using photonic lanterns and waveguide Bragg gratings is reported. The photonic lanterns with multi-notch waveguide Bragg gratings were fabricated

This work demonstrates a high‐fidelity stability transfer from an optical reference to a high‐repetition‐rate microcomb using a mode‐locked laser bridge. By employing electro‐optic sampling timing detection, femtosecond‐level synchronization and 10−18‐level fractional frequency stability are achieved.

Nanofibers with Bragg gratings from equidistant holes
We study nanofibers with Bragg gratings from equidistant holes. We calculate analytically and numerically the reflection and transmission coefficients for a single grating and also for a cavity formed by two gratings.

Stretchable fiber-Bragg-grating-based sensor
A fiber-Bragg-grating-(FBG)-based sensor is a very popular fiber optic sensor due to its simplicity, mature fabrication technology, and sensitivity to a number of physical stimuli. However, due to the stiff nature of optical fiber, it is impossible to heavily stretch a FBG sensor.

Novel Sulfur‐Rich Polymers from Inverse Vulcanization as Functional Building Blocks for Photonics
Isopropenyl aromatic comonomers, in particular novel 2,7‐diisopropenylfluorene and 2,8‐diisopropenyldibenzothiophene, synthesized by sustainable, facile, single‐step SMCCR from available brominated substrates are exploited in the Inverse Vulcanization process to obtain functional Sulfur‐rich macromolecular materials.

Group delay in Bragg grating with linear chirp
An analytic solution for Bragg grating with linear chirp in the form of confluent hypergeometric functions is analyzed in the asymptotic limit of long grating. Simple formulas for reflection coefficient and group delay are derived.

Photothermal effects in fiber Bragg gratings
Writing a fiber Bragg grating in optical fiber generates an intrinsic broadband absorption term that can result in photothermal heating during subsequent use with fiber core guided light. This, in turn, can cause a significant shift of a grating resonance via the thermo-optic coefficient, even at low in-fiber light powers.

High-efficiency ultraviolet inscription of Bragg gratings in microfibers
In this paper, we demonstrate high-efficiency inscription of Bragg gratings in microfiber. Strong Bragg gratings are easily inscribed using a 193-nm excimer laser and phase mask in microfiber drawn from the 62.5/125- μm standard multimode fiber ...
