Optical Bend Sensor Based on Eccentrically Micro-Structured Multimode Polymer Optical Fibers

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2021
We report on a novel bend sensor with high flexibility and elasticity based on Bragg grating structures in polymer optical fibers to detect bending for the measurement of movement.

Bragg gratings and BIO-Bragg-gratings in tapered optical fibers

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2022
Tapered optical fibres are well-established devices for different applications, in order to exploit nonlinear effects, manage dispersion, excite azimuthal resonances in microresonators (so-called Whispering Gallery Modes). Also, the micro- or nanofibres guide optical-fields with large evanescent fields. In this talk, we will focus on the combination of

The Research of Power Cable On-line Measurement System Based on Fiber Bragg Grating Sensor

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2016
This paper puts forward a power cable on-line measurement system which is based on fiber Bragg grating. Firstly the paper analyzes several solutions to cable lines temperature measurement, then the best solution to cable temperature measurement should be

Amplitude squeezed fiber Bragg grating solitons [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. A, 69, 021801(R) (2004)., 2003
Quantum fluctuations of optical fiber Bragg grating solitons are investigated numerically by the back-propagation method. It is found for the first time that the bandgap effects of the grating act as a nonlinear filter and cause the soliton to be amplitude squeezed.

Mitigation of stimulated Raman scattering in a high-power fiber master oscillator power amplifier laser based on a dual-structure fiber grating

open access: yesHigh Power Laser Science and Engineering, 2023
With the increasing power of fiber lasers, single chirped and tilted fiber Bragg gratings (CTFBGs) cannot completely mitigate continuously enhanced system-excited stimulated Raman scattering (SRS).

Bound states in the continuum in fiber Bragg gratings [PDF]

open access: yesACS Photonics 6, 2996 (2019), 2017
Optical fibers typically confine light through total internal reflection or through photonic bandgaps. Here we show that light can be perfectly guided in optical fibers through a different mechanism based on bound states in the continuum (BICs). In fibers with periodic Bragg gratings, we predict bona fide BICs in pure-polarization modes, as well as ...

Numerical analysis of the strain values obtained by FBG embedded in a composite material using assumptions about uniaxial stress state of the optical fiber and capillary on the Bragg grating.

open access: yesFracture and Structural Integrity, 2019
One of the issues in the strain measurement with the help of fiber-optic sensors based on Bragg gratings is the calculation of the strain based on the information from the sensor and its correspondence to the material strain.

Reconstruction of fiber Bragg grating strain profile used to monitor the stiffness degradation of the adhesive layer in carbon fiber–reinforced plastic single-lap joint

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2017
The adhesive-bonded joint of carbon fiber–reinforced plastic is one of the core components in aircraft structure design. It is an effective guarantee for the safety and reliability of the aerospace aircraft structure to use effective methods for ...
