Abstract Improving our understanding of induced and natural earthquakes benefits from controlled experiments in insitu laboratories. To investigate the processes during an Mw∼0 earthquake, we performed the “Mzero” experiments in a densely instrumented testbed of the Bedretto Underground Laboratory. These multi‐day hydraulic stimulation experiments went

Novel fiber Bragg grating sensor implemented in a polymer-core/silica- cladding hybrid optical fiber [PDF]
A polymer-core/silica-cladding hybrid optical fiber is implemented by filling a capillary with UV-curable epoxy and a following UV-laser scanning exposure. A fiber Bragg grating is successfully inscribed in parallel using a phase mask.

A Study on the Simulation of Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) as a Strain Sensor
Abstract: This study models, simulates, and characterizes the Fibre Bragg grating (FBG) in terms of maximum reflectivity, bandwidth, the effect of applied strain on the wavelength shift, λB, and the wavelength shift sensitivity with strain for an optical sensing system.

Investigating The Spectral Response of Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) for Temperature Sensor Applications
Abstract: In the field of sensor technology, the optical fibre sensor (OFS) has gained a lot of notoriety and prominence. It is frequently utilised to detect changes in the environment and react to outputs from other systems, such as those used in chemical analysis, industrial, and monitoring applications.

Direct characterization of the spatial effective refractive index profile in Bragg gratings [PDF]
We propose a pulse response method to directly characterize the phase of the spatial index modulation, including the dc refractive index distribution (distributed phase shift), discrete phase, and chirp of fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs).

Phase-Shifted Fiber Bragg Grating by Selective Pitch Slicing
This paper presents a new type of phase-shifted Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG): the sliced-FBG (SFBG). The fabrication process involves cutting a standard FBG inside its grating region. As a result, the last grating pitch is shorter than the others.
