Fiber-Bragg-grating-assisted surface plasmon-polariton sensor

Optics Letters, 2006
A theoretical scheme for a new surface plasmon-polariton (SPP) fiber sensor with a fiber Bragg grating imprinted into the fiber core for SPP excitation is presented for the first time to our knowledge. In our scheme the energy in the fiber core mode can be transferred to a SPP with high efficiency by means of a properly designed short-period fiber ...

Multiplexed Bragg grating fiber sensors

Proceedings of LEOS'94, 2002
By combining wavelength and time division multiplexing the number of sensors which could potentially be addressed increases to the tens to possibly one hundred devices, depending on the strain resolution and measurement bandwidths required. Recently developed fiber draw-tower fabrication techniques should allow the production of such fibre Bragg ...

Fiber-Bragg-grating sensor systems

Optical Fiber Communications Conference, 1995
Fiber-Bragg gratings (FBGs) are proving to be suitable for providing the basis of a range of new fiber devices for use in both the fiber communications and sensing areas.1 In the communications field, current attention is directed in particular on the development of grating-based WDM devices and dispersion compensators, whereas in sensing, grating ...

Fiber Bragg grating laser sensor

Optical Engineering, 1993
An erbium-doped fiber laser utilizing a broadband mirror as the end reflector and an intracore Bragg grating as the output coupler is designed and developed. This arrangement is used as a laser sensor to improve interrogation efficiency of intracore Bragg gratings over broadband sensor interrogation methods.

Fiber Bragg grating differential strain sensor

The Experience of Designing and Application of CAD Systems in Microelectronics, 2003. CADSM 2003. Proceedings of the 7th International Conference., 2004
In the paper a parametric, fiber optic strain sensor with Bragg gratings, in a differential scheme is described. The possibility of compensating the effect of temperature on the accuracy of the strain processing is shown.

Fiber Bragg Grating differential pressure sensor

2016 IEEE Conference on Recent Advances in Lightwave Technology (CRALT), 2016
The present study proposes a novel real time dynamic pressure sensing device employing Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) sensor. A hermetically sealed chamber with one surface comprising of a glass epoxy diaphragm is utilized for the differential pressure sensing. The pressure outside the chamber is maintained at atmospheric pressure.
