Fiber Bragg grating-based acceleration sensor

We present the design process of a fiber Bragg grating based fiber-optic single-axis acceleration sensor with minimized crosstalk. Crosscoupling of non-directional accelerations is minimized by introducing a unique double-membrane fixture of the sensor's mass of inertia leading to an almost diagonal form of the sensors stiffness-matrix.

Fiber Bragg grating based sensor systems are becoming mature rapidly. Components for commercial pressure sensors and temperature sensors are available and slowly getting accepted.

Distributed temperature fiber Bragg grating sensor

We propose a temperature measurement system based of fiber Bragg grating (FBG). FBG is applied as a sensor element, and a measurand is controlled in the finite number of points. For temperature registration and control of FBG reflection spectrum shift due to applied strain each sensor is tuned to a certain field of measured parameters.

Fiber Bragg grating impulsive pressure sensor

A new impulsive pressure sensor based on the elastic bar, is presented in this paper. As the elastic bar a piece of single mode optical fiber with photo-inscribed Bragg gratings is used.
