Investigation Into the Electrochemical Performance of Micron‐ and Nanosized Tin in Diglyme and Carbonate Electrolytes in Sodium Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This study compares Sn particles of different sizes in NIBs using carbonate‐ and diglyme‐based electrolytes. Diglyme electrolytes enable stable cycling despite large volume changes, while carbonate electrolytes degrade rapidly, especially with nanoparticles.

Recent Advances in Stimulated Brillouin Scattering in Integrated Photonics

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
This review systematically surveys recent advances in stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) within integrated photonics. It begins by elucidating the fundamental mechanisms of stimulated coupling between photons and acoustic phonons in nanoscale waveguides, enhanced by the photoelastic and moving boundary effects.

Locally pressed fibre Bragg grating pressure sensor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
A spectral-hole created by locally pressing a fibre Bragg grating exhibited a wavelength-shift within the FBG bandwidth. A sensitivity of 74.3pm/(N/mm) was obtained for pressure applied along the slow axis of a high birefringence ...
