Improving the Dietary Fiber Content of Tapioca Using Corn Fiber as a Fiber Supplement

open access: yesInternational Journal of Innovative Science and Research Technology (IJISRT)
This research aims to enhance the dietary fiber content of locally produced cassava (manihot spp) food, tapioca, by incorporating corn (Zea mays) as a fiber supplement. Tapioca was prepared by grating cassava into coarse particles and washing it with water to remove starch.

Long fiber thermoplastic PET composites : fiber content and consolidation pressure

open access: yes, 2010
PET-based long glass fiber thermoplastic (LFT) composites manufactured from PET fibers and E-glass fibers have been studied. To manufacture these composites, PET and glass fibers are first cut to the same length and laid-down into a mold in thin alternate layers to obtain a regular distribution of the polymer and reinforcing fibers.

Transfer of Energy and Momentum Between Magnetoactive Surface Microstructure and a Solid Object

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate that magnetoactive multilamellar arrays subjected to a rotating magnetic field can function as platforms for controlled transport of physical objects. Through systematic experimental investigation, we elucidate the underlying physical mechanisms determining the upper limit of the achievable transportation speed in such magnetic “conveyor‐

Influence of an Argon/Silane Atmosphere on the Temperature of a Thermal Plasma

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The influence of a silane‐doped argon atmosphere on the chemical composition and temperature of a thermal nontransferring argon plasma is investigated using optical emission spectroscopy. As a result of the high amount of free electrons resulting from the stepwise ionization and dissociation of the silane molecule, even a silane addition of 0.01 vol ...
