Development of an optical fiber hydrophone with fiber Bragg grating
Ultrasonics, 2000A new type of optical fiber hydrophone is constructed with a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) based on the intensity modulation of laser light in an FBG under the influence of sound pressure. The FBG hydrophone shows linearity, with dynamic range about 70 dB. It can measure amplitude and phase of an acoustic field in real time, and operates in a wide range of

Chemical Fibers International, 2017
Polyacrylonitrile-based (PAN) carbon fibers (CF) provide outstanding mechanical properties combined with a low-weight which makes CF highly interesting for the automotive industry. The high market price of CF of around 20 £/kg is a limiting factor that prohibits the use of CF in the mass market.

Development of chicken intrafusal muscle fibers
Cell & Tissue Research, 1993The first sign of developing intrafusal fibers in chicken leg muscles appeared on embryonic day (E) 13 when sensory axons contacted undifferentiated myotubes. In sections incubated with monoclonal antibodies against myosin heavy chains (MHC) diverse immunostaining was observed within the developing intrafusal fiber bundle.

New Developments in Fiber- and Filmextrusion
International Polymer Processing, 1989Abstract The demands of the fiber and film producers, the result of scientific polymer research studies and the ideas and work of machine manufacturers determine the trends and developments in fiber and film extrusion. The main goal is the improvement of the fiber- and filmproduct-quality and of the process efficiency.

Applied photonics
The dimensions of devices based on optical fiber are limited by the sensitivity of the optical fiber to macrobending, which leads to an increase in optical losses at small bending radii. New types of fibers with low macrobending losses make it possible to significantly tighten the dimensions.

Developing Pulsed Fiber Lasers
2007Abstract : Laser power is at a premium and a diffraction limited optical beam delivers the maximum intensity on target. Therefore, the better the beam quality, the lower the system cost and complexity is reduced considerably by using high quality beams. Single mode optical fiber lasers and amplifiers produce near diffraction limited beams and therefore
