Optimization of femtosecond fiber laser pulses with selected machine-learning algorithms [PDF]
We investigate the possibility of optimization of ultrashort laser pulses by spectral phase modulation using machine learning algorithms. We compare the efficiency of two algorithms: Grey Wolf Optimizer and Genetic Algorithm.

High efficiency mode-locked, cylindrical vector beam fiber laser based on a mode selective coupler.
We propose and demonstrate an all-fiber passively mode-locked laser with a figure-8 cavity, which generates pulsed cylindrical vector beam output based on a mode selective coupler (MSC).

Optical turbulence in fiber lasers [PDF]
We analyze the nonlinear stage of modulation instability in passively mode-locked fiber lasers leading to chaotic or noise-like emission. We present the phase-transition diagram among different regimes of chaotic emission in terms of the key cavity parameters: amplitude or phase turbulence, and spatio-temporal intermittency.

This study develops a tissue‐engineered model of the atherosclerotic cap using human mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs). After 2 weeks of culture to produce a collagenous matrix, a mineralizing medium induces microcalcifications over 4 weeks. These constructs, imaged with second harmonic generation microscopy, lead to reduced ultimate stress at rupture ...

The glomerular filtration barrier (GFB) is the first step of blood filtration by the kidneys. The concerning increase of kidney diseases makes the development of new models essential. In this context, microphysiological glomerular filtration barriers focus on closely reproducing the physiological architecture of the in vivo GFB: podocytes, glomerular ...
