Impact of Nano‐Scale Defects on the Macroscopic Amplified Spontaneous Emission in Polycrystalline Perovskite Thin‐Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, we discovered that optical gain within these polycrystalline perovskite thin films occurs primarily at defective sites, where, despite the low photoluminescence efficiency, we demonstrated high optical gain efficiency and long photocarrier lifetime. Our findings highlight the importance of defects in the development of electrically pumped

Science‐Towards‐Technology Breakthrough in CO2 Electroreduction: Multiphysics, Multiscale, and Artificial Intelligence Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Electrochemical CO2RR is a key technology for converting CO2 into chemicals, but there remains a gap between “laboratory science” and “engineering practice” in current research. This review establishes a multi‐scale research framework, encompassing atomic‐level characterization, microenvironment regulation, external field‐assisted optimization, and AI ...

Soft Ionic and Electronic Triboelectric Nanogenerators: Toward Attachable and Implantable Biomedical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review provides an overview of triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG)–based biomedical applications by classifying studies into electronic and ionic systems across attachable and implantable platforms. It summarizes key material choices, device structures, and working mechanisms that characterize current TENG‐based research, and outlines six future ...

Toward Self-Similar Propagation of Optical Pulses in a Dispersion Tailored, Nonlinear, and Segmented Bragg-Fiber at 2.8 $\mu$m

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2017
We demonstrate self-similar stable propagation of parabolic optical pulses through a highly nonlinear specialty Bragg fiber at 2.8 $\mu$m by a numerical approach. To obtain such propagation characteristics over a longer length of a Bragg fiber, we

Nonlinear birefringence of optical fibers

open access: yesOptics Communications, 1994
Abstract The nonlinear birefringence of low birefringent optical fibers has been studied experimentally. It is found that the experimental results are consistent with theoretical predictions. Earlier discrepancies between experimental results and theory could be due to the failure to compensate for the linear birefringence adequately.
