Microgels Enable iPSCs to Assemble, Expand, and Differentiate Into Organoids—From Sizable to High‐Throughput

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A chemically defined PEG‐based microgel platform enables scalable, reproducible production of three‐dimensional microgel‐iPSC constructs in multiple sizes. The system is compatible with high‐throughput automation and supports human iPSC expansion and differentiation within a single construct, including directed differentiation into cardiac organoids ...

Fabrication of Aligned Polycaprolactone Nanofibrillar Bundles to Control Cell‐Mediated Collagen Deposition in Engineered Cartilage

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Melt electrofibrillation (MEF) enables the fabrication of nanofibrillar PCL scaffolds with defined architectures that guide cellular alignment and retention during cartilage tissue engineering. Unlike conventional melt electrowriting, MEF consistently directs collagen type II‐rich extracellular matrix organization, providing a tunable platform to ...

A fiber optic PCO2 sensor

Annals of Biomedical Engineering, 1983
The theory, construction and performance of a catheter tip optical PCO2 probe is described. The sensor, called the Opticap, is made with plastic fiber optics. One fiber carries light to the sensitive tip which is a silicone rubber tube 0.6 mm dia. X 1.0 mm long filled with a phenol red-KHCO3 solution.

Optical fiber acoustic sensor

Applied Optics, 1977
A new class of hydrophones is currently being developed, which utilize optical beams and interface directly to fiber optic transmission and processing links. Some of these sensors employ an optical fiber itself as the transduction element and possess significant advantages and versatility.
