This study explores a crystal‐symmetry‐based approach to optimize mechanical properties in laser powder bed fused AISI 316L with predominant {110}<100> Goss textures. By varying the build orientation, the microstructure can be tailored and the tensile properties optimized. The tilted build (T110) achieved the highest strength while preserving ductility,

5-Gbit/s BER performance on an all fiber-optic add/drop device based on a taper-resonator-taper structure [PDF]
We present an all fiber-optic add/drop device based on a taper-resonator-taper structure with improved characteristics. Several gigahertz bandwidths are observed using microspheres having diameters ranging from 30 to 50 μm.

When realized as inserts in high‐pressure die casting, aluminum cooling channels for electric powertrain components and similar applications typically require a stabilizing filler to survive the process. The present study investigates relinquishing this filler using additively manufactured inserts promising performance improvements.

Prevention of Competition by Competition Law: Evidence from Unbundling Regulation on Fiber-Optic Networks in Japan [PDF]
This paper finds that a regulation that promotes competition in one market may decrease competition in other related markets. Policy makers in the telecommunication industry currently are facing an important decision about whether to continue unbundling ...
