Comparison of the beam quality in fiber amplifier employing tapered fiber and uniform fiber
International Photonics and OptoElectronics Meeting 2019 (OFDA, OEDI, ISST, PE, LST, TSA), 2019Simulation results of laser beam quality in fiber amplifier show that the output laser beam quality of the tapered fiber is much better than that of the uniform fiber amplifier under the same conditions.

Variability of cotton fiber quality
2000Fiber quality variability is one of the key determinants of the profitability of the cotton crop. As this variability increases, the risk associated with production increases and the expected return decreases. Prior to our studies, variability had been characterized at the field or crop lever.

Factors affecting fiber-optic transmission quality
Journal of Lightwave Technology, 1988Important factors related to further improvement and extension of optical-fiber transmission system performance are discussed, focusing on repeater spacing, data rate, and optical frequency utility. Relevant progress in optical-fiber loss, semiconductor laser properties (such as output power, spectrum, and modulation speed), low-noise broad-band ...

Enhancing the Cement Quality Using Polypropylene Fibers
SPE Trinidad and Tobago Section Energy Resources Conference, 2018Abstract With the high global demand of oil and gas, oilfield companies are seeking resources in the unexplored areas by drilling wells to explore the potential reserves of oil and gas. The drilling process has become more challenging in these unexplored areas, especially at the high pressure and high temperature conditions (HPHT).

Fiber Fabrication and High-Quality Glasses for Gain Fibers
2013Glass optical fibers are almost always made from silica; however, some other materials, such as fluorozirconate, fluoroaluminate, and chalcogenide glasses, are used for longer-wavelength infrared applications. Most glasses demonstrate a refractive index of about 1.5. Typically, the difference between core and cladding is less than 1 %.

QUALITY OF MODIFIED FLAX FIBERS
2007When polycarboxil acid affects cellulose, a chemical modification of molecular and also of super molecular fiber structure occurs, making natural fibers modified in such a way that they become interesting for use in new textiles where they can substitute man-made materials on an equal basis. In this paper a chemical modification of flax fabric has been

The quality of cotton fiber : a new challenge
1997Spinning machinery is increasingly automated and rapid. The resulting fall in processing costs means that the starting material has become the principal component in the yarn cost. In addition, the spinning process and the quality of the finished product are dependent upon the characteristics of the fiber supplied.
