Cancer‐associated mutations in endometriosis reframe a benign disease through molecular oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review aims to comprehensively analyse cancer‐associated somatic mutations (CAMs) present in endometriotic lesions, emphasizing their biological roles, spatial distribution and implications for translational applications in medicine. By contextualizing a benign state within a genomic framework, this analysis seeks to establish its value as a ...

Functional and genomic characterization of ligninolytic Bacillus strains for improved jute fibre delignification

open access: yesBMC Microbiology
Lignin, the second most abundant biopolymer on Earth, imparting rigidity to plant cell walls but poses a challenge in the processing of lignocellulosic biomass such as jute (Corchorus spp.).

Possibilities and Conditions of Developing Mulberry Silkworm Rearing in Poland, Especially for Purposes Related to the Production of Natural Cosmetics Based on Silk Proteins Obtained from Silkworm Cocoons

open access: yesJournal of Natural Fibers, 2022
Sericulture is associated primarily with the production of cocoons for textile purposes. However, the widespread availability of synthetic fibers caused a decline in interest in natural fabrics, including silk.

Infrared fibres in astronomical instrumentation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
For several years multi-object spectroscopy systems have been available for carrying out survey work in the visible region, but until very recently there has not been a system for the near infrared region.

Lifetime quenching in Yb doped fibres [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
We have discovered that in ytterbium-doped silica fibres the excited state lifetime of a fraction of the Yb ions can be quenched to a very small value, leading to a strong unbleachable loss.

Paclitaxel induces NM2‐dependent cellular contraction through GEF‐H1 dissociation from microtubules and RhoA/ROCK activation in cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Taxanes are widely used chemotherapeutics whose effects on cellular mechanics remain poorly understood. We show that paclitaxel induces rapid cellular contraction by promoting GEF‐H1 dissociation from microtubules and non‐muscle myosin II activation through RhoA/ROCK.

The compressive strength properties of mineral wool slabs: Influence of structure anisotropy and methodical factors

open access: yesJournal of Civil Engineering and Management, 2007
This paper presents the research on the structure and compressive stress or compressive strength of mineral wool products. The products of chaotic, directional and combinative fibres structure have been studied visually and microscopically.

p190A/ARHGAP35 and p190B/ARHGAP5 proteins in endometrial cancer: a novel cancer‐relevant paralog interplay

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study identifies ARHGAP5, in addition to the frequently mutated ARHGAP35, as significantly mutated in endometrial cancer. Mutations in both genes co‐occur and are associated with their correlated downregulation. Functional CRISPR studies show that both paralogs regulate similar pathways, including actin cytoskeleton organization.

Characterization, Thermal And Mechanical Properties Of Tropical Plant Fibres [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The work deals with systematic evaluation of chemical, morphological, anatomical, thermal and mechanical properties of tropical plant fibres. The TAPPI test standard and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy were used to study the chemical ...
