A comparative biomechanical study of repaired tendons wrapped with two biological matrices in Bucks
This study is planned to evaluate the efficacy of two biological matrices represented by autologous platelet rich fibrin matrix, as well as a cross linked decellularized caprine pericardial extracellular matrix on enhancing healing of the experimentally ...

Fibrin gel as a three dimensional matrix in cardiovascular tissue engineering [PDF]
Objective: In tissue engineering, three-dimensional biodegradable scaffolds are generally used as a basic structure for cell anchorage, cell proliferation and cell differentiation. The currently used biodegradable scaffolds in cardiovascular tissue engineering are potentially immunogenic, they show toxic degradation and inflammatory reactions.

Fibrin–gelatin hydrogels functionalized with reduced graphene oxide create a mechanically stable and bioactive 3D environment for engineered cardiac tissue. The composite matrix promotes endothelial lumen formation, enhances sarcomeric protein expression, and increases contractile performance of embedded cardiomyocytes.

Mechanical Stability and Fibrinolytic Resistance of Clots Containing Fibrin, DNA, and Histones [PDF]
Neutrophil extracellular traps are networks of DNA and associated proteins produced by nucleosome release from activated neutrophils in response to infection stimuli and have recently been identified as key mediators between innate immunity, inflammation,

Control of Bacterial Attachment on Macroporous PDMS/Paraffin SLIPS With Varying Lubricant Viscosity
Slippery liquid‐infused porous surfaces (SLIPS) prepared from macroporous PDMS, infused with medical‐grade paraffins, were systematically investigated regarding the correlation of viscosity, surface corrugation, bulk porosity, and bacterial resistance. Substrate porosity was found to dominate lubricant stabilization and the antifouling activity.

We introduce a novel method combining microfluidics, optogenetics, and human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) technology to encapsulate single iPSC‐derived cardiomyocytes (iPSC‐CMs) in an optimal environment for functional characterization. This method enables direct genotype‐phenotype correlation for genetic studies and high‐throughput screening ...

Applications of Platelet-Rich Fibrin Matrix in Facial Plastic Surgery [PDF]
Platelet concentrates enjoyed some clinical popularity in facial plastic surgery several years ago. However, interest waned due to expense, amount of blood required, equipment, space, and staff needed, and lack of clinically significant benefit. A novel, simple method of preparing an autologous platelet derivative (Selphyl; Aesthetic Factors, Princeton,

A closed U‐shaped microfluidic platform symmetrically embeds a single, size‐controlled HT29 colorectal cancer spheroid within a GFP‐HUVEC‐laden fibrin matrix. HT29 spheroids are associated with hyper‐branched endothelial network remodeling, while vascularized co‐culture is accompanied by anisotropic protrusive growth and EMT‐like marker changes in the ...
