The Fidelity of Recovery Is Multiplicative [PDF]
Fawzi and Renner [Commun. Math. Phys. 340(2):575, 2015] recently established a lower bound on the conditional quantum mutual information (CQMI) of tripartite quantum states $ABC$ in terms of the fidelity of recovery (FoR), i.e. the maximal fidelity of the state $ABC$ with a state reconstructed from its marginal $BC$ by acting only on the $C$ system ...

Fidelity of Gaussian Channels [PDF]
A noisy Gaussian channel is defined as a channel in which an input field mode is subjected to random Gaussian displacements in phase space. We introduce the quantum fidelity of a Gaussian channel for pure and mixed input states, and we derive a universal scaling law of the fidelity for pure initial states.

Fidelity of adaptive phototaxis [PDF]
Along the evolutionary path from single cells to multicellular organisms with a central nervous system are species of intermediate complexity that move in ways suggesting high-level coordination, yet have none. Instead, organisms of this type possess many autonomous cells endowed with programs that have evolved to achieve concerted

Let \((\omega,\rho)\) be the pair of density operators on a Hilbert space \(H\) of dimension \(d\) with the spectrum \(\text{Spec}((\rho^{1/2} \omega\rho^{1/2})^{1/2})= \{\lambda_1\geq \lambda_2\geq\cdots\geq \lambda_d\}\). Let PAIRS be the set of all pairs \(\{A, B\}\) of positive Hermitian operators satisfying \(ABA= A\) and \(BAB= B\), and \(\text ...

Structural Insights into Eukaryotic DNA Replication
Three DNA polymerases of the B family function at the replication fork in eukaryotic cells: DNA polymerases α, δ, and ε. DNA polymerase α, an heterotetramer composed of two primase subunits and two polymerase subunits, initiates replication.

Cost-Reliability Tradeoffs in Fusing Unreliable Computational Units
We investigate fusing several unreliable computational units that perform the same task. We model an unreliable computational outcome as an additive perturbation to its error-free result in terms of its fidelity and cost.
