Slip frequency detection for indirect field oriented control drives

Conference Record of the 2001 IEEE Industry Applications Conference. 36th IAS Annual Meeting (Cat. No.01CH37248), 2002
The paper presents a new technique to detect the slip angular frequency in induction motor drives based on indirect field oriented control. According to the proposed technique, the slip frequency is calculated by processing the effects exerted by an additional high frequency signal on the zero sequence stator voltage.

Parameter sensitivity of indirect universal field oriented controllers

PESC '91 Record 22nd Annual IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 1994
The universal field-oriented (UFO) controller was developed to decouple flux and torque in an arbitrary synchronous flux reference frame, realizing a high degree of generality which makes the UFO controller compatible with all existing field-oriented controllers, including indirect and direct field orientation.

Iron losses influence on a field-oriented controller

Proceedings of IECON'94 - 20th Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics, 2002
Although many papers about field-oriented algorithms can be found in the literature, just one work that discusses the iron losses influence on a field-oriented controller (FOC) (see T. Mizumo et. al., Proc. IPEC, Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan, 1993) have been found by the authors. In this paper a new proposal to explain the same subject is presented.

Dynamics in Vector Control and Field Orientation

2018
In Chap. 17 of Part III, vector control and field orientation have already been presented. However, the dynamics have not been analysed. In this chapter we discuss vector control and field orientation more thoroughly, including an analysis of their dynamic behaviour.

Application of field oriented control in crane drives

Conference Record of the 1991 IEEE Industry Applications Society Annual Meeting, 2002
It is shown how a combination of several PWM inverter fed induction motors, both with scalar and field oriented control, may be used for the different motions in crane drives. The concept of a common DC bus for the supply of the individual invertors yields particular advantages, very useful in this type of application.

Reinforcement Learning-Based Controller for Field-Oriented Control of Induction Machine

2018
This paper presents the concept of reinforcement learning-based field-oriented control (FOC) of induction motor. Conventional controllers such as PID used for FOC of induction machines are model-based controllers and face the issue of parameter tuning.

Indirect Field-Oriented Control of Induction Motors: A Hopf Bifurcation Analysis

2005
This chapter reviews the theory of Hopf bifurcations and bifurcation is detected with standard tangent approximation analysis. It describes simulations that corroborate the theoretical predictions and a complementary analysis of bifurcation detection via harmonic balance.

Tuning of field-oriented controller for induction machines

International Conference on Power Electronics Machines and Drives, 2002
A scheme for tuning controllers based on Indirect Self Control (ISC) for induction machines is presented. It is shown that the closed loop system can be approximated by a simple linear system, where the controller parameters can be directly expressed in terms of motor data and performance requirements.
