Developing capacity in field epidemiology in England

Perspectives in Public Health, 2014
Epidemiology is the study of the distribution and determinants of healthrelated states or events (including disease). Public health professionals apply epidemiological methods to:* Assess the health states and health needs of specific populations;* design and implement interventions designed to improve the health of that population; and* evaluate the ...

A conceptual agricultural water productivity model considering under field capacity soil water redistribution applicable for arid and semi-arid areas with deep groundwater

Agricultural Water Management, 2019
Agricultural water productivity (AWP) model is an essential tool for irrigation water management that is highly dependent on soil water processes.

Cadmium phytoavailability evaluation in rice-soil system using a field capacity-derived soil solution extraction: An entire growth period study in subtropical China

Soil & Tillage Research, 2019
While the evaluation of cadmium (Cd) phytoavailability in rice (Oryza sativa L.)–soil systems has attracted considerable attention in recent years, the results vary based on the evaluation method used. The objective of this work was to use field capacity-

Capillary Length and Field Capacity in Draining Soil Profiles

Water Resources Research, 2019
The capillary length (λs) and time (ts) are dynamic scalars that emerge routinely in the infiltration problem when gravitational and pressure gradients forces are involved.

Heat capacity of in a magnetic field

Physica B: Condensed Matter, 2000
Abstract Heat capacity measurements down to 0.5 K in a magnetic field up to 12 T have been performed on a single-crystal sample of a spin-ladder-like compound Cu 2 ( C 5 H 12 N 2 ) 2 Cl 4 . The singlet ground state with an energy gap becomes magnetic and gapless between 7 T ( H c1 ) and 13 T (

Field Capacity in Laboratory Columns

Soil Science Society of America Journal, 1953
Abstract It is shown that the material decrease in downward movement observed as soils approach field capacity cannot be explained in terms of capillary conductivity alone. Instead, the combined effects of decreasing capillary conductivity in the drying zone, hysteresis and reduced hydraulic gradients at all levels are involved.

Influence of Electric Field on the Capacity of Phospholipid Membranes

Nature, 1966
VARIOUS bimolecular models of the cell membrane have already been made1–3. Such bimolecular films separating two aqueous solutions are formed by applying a solution of phospholipids to the hole in a ‘Teflon’ cup.

Criteria for the estimation of field capacity and their implications for the bucket type model

European Journal of Soil Science, 2018
Field capacity (FC) is crucial for modelling soil–plant–water dynamics with bucket‐type models, supporting prevention of environmental problems (e.g. chemical leaching to deeper layers and groundwater and waste of water resources).
