Bulk density: An index for measuring critical soil compaction levels for groundnut cultivation
Assessing soil compaction using soil bulk density as an index for measurement could provide background information on the critical range of soil compaction for groundnut production in Nigeria.

Field Studies on the Capacity of Escalators
AbstractNowadays urban development tends to high buildings, maximising the utility of limited space. In an effort to maintain comfort plenty of escalators connect levels in buildings. Of course there is much theoretical information about capacity of escalators, but do these model reality well?

Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

The dependence capacity of finite borel fields
The concepts of entropy and the mutual information between two random variables as given, e.g., in (Khinchin, 1963; Gel'fand and Kolmogorov, 1956; Gel'fand and Yaglom, 1957) have been extended to arbitrary probability spaces by Perez (1957). In this paper we consider the mutual information of several random variables from the point of view of its being

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Effect of irrigation regimes and organic fertilizer on rapeseed performance in the semi-arid area [PDF]
Climate changes and the cost of irrigation water in semi-arid areas seriously reduce the availability of water for irrigation. The optimal allocation of water resources to irrigation and limit water overexploitation are necessary in these regions.
