In this chapter, we present the lab and field experiments we conducted to evaluate the innovation and sustainability aspects of the structural biomimetic design method. Experiment 1 aimed to assess the innovation aspects of the method. We elaborate on the innovation assessment process and present our innovation rubric based on the literature.
