Abelian Hopf Galois structures on prime-power Galois field extensions

open access: yes, 2012
The main theorem of this paper is that if (N, +) is a finite abelian p-group of p-rank m where m + 1 < p, then every regular abelian subgroup of the holomorph of N is isomorphic to N .

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Field Extensions Having the Unique Subfield Property, and G-Cogalois Extensions

open access: yes, 2002
We present a short proof, based on Cogalois Theory, of a result due to Acosta de Orozco and Vélez (1982, J. Number Theory 15, 388-405) characterizing separable simple radical field extensions with the unique subfield property, and prove that these ...

Omissible extensions of $SL_2(k)$ where $k$ is a field of positive characteristic [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Group Theory, 2013
A normal subgroup $N$ of a group $G$ is said to be an$emph{omissible}$ subgroup of $G$ if it has the following property: whenever $Xleq G$ is such that $G=XN$, then $G=X$.In this note we construct various groups $G$, each of which has an omissible ...

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

On the Aharonov-Casher formula for different self-adjoint extensions of the Pauli operator with singular magnetic field

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2005
Two different self-adjoint Pauli extensions describing a spin-1/2 two-dimensional quantum system with singular magnetic field are studied. An Aharonov-Casher type formula is proved for the maximal Pauli extension and the possibility of approximation of ...

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Quadratic subfields on quartic extensions of local fields

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1988
We show that any quartic extension of a local field of odd residue characteristic must contain an intermediate field. A consequence of this is that local fields of odd residue characteristic do not have extensions with Galois group A4 or S4 ...

Gröbner bases applied to finitely generated field extensions

open access: yes, 2000
Using a constructive field-ideal correspondence it is shown how to compute the transcendence degree and a (separating) transcendence basis of finitely generated field extensions k( x)/k( g), resp. how to determine the (separable) degree if k( x)/k( g) is
