Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Alpine Plant Range Extensions for Northern British Columbia, Including Two Species New to the Province

open access: yes, 2011
Between 2002 and 2011, we collected vascular plants from alpine areas of northern British Columbia (B.C.). We have found one species that has not previously been collected in the province: Phippsia algida.

Hecke algebras related to the unimodular and modular groups over quadratic field extensions and quaternion algebras

open access: yes, 2011
We investigate the structure of the Hecke algebras related to the unimodular and modular groups over quadratic field extensions and quaternion algebras. In particular, we show that in general there is no decomposition into primary components.

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

A Note on Extended Genus Fields of Kummer Extensions of Global Rational Function Fields

open access: yesAxioms
We consider the generalization of the extended genus field of a prime degree cyclic Kummer extension of a global rational function field obtained by R. Clement in 1992 to general Kummer extensions.

On The Solvability In Local Extensions

open access: yesAnalele Stiintifice ale Universitatii Ovidius Constanta: Seria Matematica, 2014
The aim of this paper is the study of the solvability of finite extensions of local fields in the general case that is when the residue field is not necessarily perfect.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Capitulation of the 2-ideal classes of type (2, 2, 2) of some quartic cyclic number fields

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Cryptology, 2019
Let p≡3(mod4){p\equiv 3\pmod{4}} and l≡5(mod8){l\equiv 5\pmod{8}} be different primes such that pl=1{\frac{p}{l}=1} and 2p=pl4{\frac{2}{p}=\frac{p}{l}_{4}}. Put k=ℚ⁢(l){k=\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{l})}, and denote by ϵ its fundamental unit. Set K=k⁢(-2⁢p⁢ϵ⁢l){K=k(

Extensions of degree plof a p-adic field

open access: yes, 2017
Given a p-adic field K and a prime number l, we count the total number of the isomorphism classes of p(l)-extensions of K having no intermediate fields.
