Buried Unstrained Germanium Channels: A Lattice‐Matched Platform for Quantum Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Strained germanium (ε$\varepsilon$‐Ge) and strained silicon (ε$\varepsilon$‐Si) buried quantum wells have enabled advanced spin‐qubit quantum processors. However, in the absence of suitable lattice‐matched substrates, ε$\varepsilon$‐Ge and ε$\varepsilon$‐Si are deposited on defective, metamorphic SiGe buffers, which may impact device ...

High‐Power Terahertz Emission from Picosecond Nano‐Plasma Switching Driven by Secondary Electron Emission Avalanche

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A nano‐plasma device enables watt‐level on‐chip THz generation through picosecond switching triggered by secondary electron emission avalanche. An ultra‐dense electron sheet initiates nano‐plasma formation within a ∼100 nm gap, driving rapid energy release into an integrated resonator.

Three-Dimensional Field-Programmable Gate Arrays

open access: yes, 1995
Motivated by improving FPGA performance, we propose a new three-dimensional (3D) FPGA architecture, along with a fabrication methodology. We analyze the expected manufacturing yield, and raise several physical-design issues in the new 3D paradigm.

Compiling Occam into Field-Programmable Gate Arrays

open access: yes, 1991
We describe a compiler which maps programs expressed in a subset of occam into netlist descriptions of parallel hardware. Using Field-Programmable Gate Arrays to implement such netlists, problem-specific hardware can be generated entirely by a software ...

Field Programmable Gate Arrays with Hardwired Networks on Chip

open access: yes, 2012
Technology down-scaling and platform-based designs have enforced a number of application and architecture trends for system-on-chip (SOC) designs. A modern SOC is now a multi-functional machine that can execute a large number of complex applications by using tens or even hundreds of intellectual properties (IPs).
