Magnetic Field Measurement in Beta-Spectroscopy [PDF]
To measure precisely the instantaneous value of a magnetic field, a device consisting of a drum-armature wound on a Lucite form and rotated by a synchronous motor is described. The direct voltage output is taken off by commutator and brushes, both of silver, to a potentiometer. Changes of 0.01 gauss can be observed.

Magnetic Field Measurement and Spectroscopy in Multipole Fields [PDF]
The magnetic field measurements in multipole magnetic fields, which are used to measure magnetic field parameters in the strong-focusing lenses for the Stanford two-mile linear accelerator, will be reviewed. Specifically, the theory and the measurement processes used to determine such important parameters as the magnetic center in multipoles, the ...

Spectral Discrimination of Vegetation Classes in Ice-Free Areas of Antarctica
Detailed monitoring of vegetation changes in ice-free areas of Antarctica is crucial to determine the effects of climate warming and increasing human presence in this vulnerable ecosystem. Remote sensing techniques are especially suitable in this distant

NMR Spectroscopy in the Earth's Magnetic Field
Magnetic imaging systems used today are quite expensive and are generally used for medical purposes. Apart from this purpose, there are many scientific fields of study whose internal structure is desired to be displayed. Especially in science, different from the techniques used to understand the internal structure of matter, magnetic imaging techniques

Distinguishing Bovine Fecal Matter on Spinach Leaves Using Field Spectroscopy
Detection of fecal contaminants on leafy greens in the field will allow for decreasing cross-contamination of produce during and post-harvest. Fecal contamination of leafy greens has been associated with Escherichia coli (E.

Spin polarization transfer mechanisms of SABRE: A magnetic field dependent study [PDF]
We have investigated the magnetic field dependence of Signal Amplification By Reversible Exchange (SABRE) arising from binding of para-hydrogen (p-H2) and a substrate to a suitable transition metal complex.

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...
