This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Disseminating Ambient Assisted Living in Rural Areas
The smart home, ambient intelligence and ambient assisted living have been intensively researched for decades. Although rural areas are an important potential market, because they represent about 80% of the territory of the EU countries and around 125 ...

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Restoration and the City: The Role of Public Urban Squares
Over recent decades, the study of psychological restoration has attracted a considerable amount of interest within and without the boundaries of environmental psychology, with most of the work focused on analyzing restoration in natural contexts. However,

Studies of non-linear bubble oscillations in a simulated acoustic field
Gas bubbles in liquids are capable of forced oscillations in a sound field Photographic study of these non-linear oscillations is difficult. It is technically most feasible at low acoustic frequencies, where lower framing rates are required, and where ...

The ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy as guardians of the cellular proteome
This Perspective covers the three principles governing the crosstalk between the ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy in cellular proteostasis: (1) a shared ubiquitin code routing substrates via shuttle factors or autophagy receptors; (2) spatial compartmentalization into phase‐separated degradation hubs and organelle‐specific modules (exemplified

Physiological responses to prolonged saturation diving: a field based pilot study
This study aimed to assess the effect of extreme environmental exposure during an operational saturation dive on airway inflammation (exhaled nitric oxide (FeNo)), components of fitness (flexibility and aerobic capacity) and blood haematological ...

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...
