Harmonic maps, SU (N) skyrme models and yang-mills theories [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
This thesis examines the construction of static solutions of (3+l)-dimensional SU{N) Skyrme models, usual and alternative, and pure massive SU(N) Yang-Mills theories.

TBA equations and resurgent Quantum Mechanics

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
We derive a system of TBA equations governing the exact WKB periods in one-dimensional Quantum Mechanics with arbitrary polynomial potentials. These equations provide a generalization of the ODE/IM correspondence, and they can be regarded as the solution

QUANTUM FIELD THEORIES [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics A, 2005
The scope of this review is to give a pedagogical introduction to some new calculations and methods developed by the author in the context of quantum groups and their applications. The review is self-contained and serves as a "first aid kit" before one ventures into the beautiful but bewildering landscape of Woronowicz's theory.

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

Quasirenormalizable Quantum Field Theories [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Leading logarithms in massless nonrenormalizable effective field theories can be computed using nonlinear recurrence relations. These recurrence relations follow from the fundamental requirements of unitarity, analyticity, and crossing symmetry of ...

Hyperosmotic stress‐induced redistribution of pre‐mRNA cleavage factor I subunits is associated with shifts in alternative polyadenylation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Hyperosmotic stress triggers the relocation of the CFIm complex from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. This shift creates a nuclear ‘stoichiometric bottleneck’, limiting CFIm availability for mRNA processing. Consequently, specific mRNAs like NUDT21 and DICER1 undergo targeted 3′UTR shortening, demonstrating how spatial protein dynamics drive rapid ...

Smooth Field Theories and Homotopy Field Theories [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this thesis we assemble machinery to create a map from the field theories of Stolz and Teichner, which we call smooth field theories, to the field theories of Lurie, which we term homotopy field theories. Finally, we upgrade this map to work on inner-

The Lamb shift in muonic hydrogen and the proton radius from effective field theories [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We comprehensively analyse the theoretical prediction for the Lamb shift in muonic hydrogen, and the associated determination of the proton radius. We use effective field theories.

On non-linear chiral 4-form theories in D = 10

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We consider properties of non-linear theories of a chiral 4-form gauge field A 4 in ten space-time dimensions with an emphasis on a subclass of these theories which are invariant under the D = 10 conformal symmetry. We show that general results regarding

Evaluating the involvement of autolysosomes in the nuclear translocation of fluorescent proteins

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Endogenously expressed fluorescent proteins can be degraded by autophagy and transported to cell nuclei via the nuclear pore complex. But in some cell lines, for example, HeLa cells which are positive for immunoreactivity of a receptor ligand, such as UCN I, in cell nuclei, fusion of autolysosome with the nuclear envelope is involved in the nuclear ...
