Higher Spin Operators in Conformal Field Theories
In this thesis we study higher spin operators in conformal field theories with weakly broken higher spin symmetry. Exact higher spin symmetry is known to be very constraining, containing the usual conformal group as a subgroup, and actually enforcing the

Topological BPS charges in 10- and 11-dimensional supergravity [PDF]
In this thesis we construct closed expressions that correspond to the topological charges of the various BPS branes of the IIA, IIB and $D=11$ supergravity theories. These expressions are related to the structure of the SUSY algebras in curved spacetimes.

A unified research data management framework for heterogeneous materials data is presented. The system integrates multimodal datasets using ontologies and knowledge graphs, enabling interoperability and FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable) data principles. By linking data across scales and workflows, it supports reproducible, Artifitial

Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.

A simplified thermoplastic pultrusion model is developed to predict thermal fields in glass fiber/polyethylene terephthalate (GF/PET) composites with reduced computational cost. By combining effective material homogenization, validation against literature data, and Gaussian‐process‐based optimization, the study reveals how heating limits, pulling speed,

Aspects of hydrodynamics in AdS/CMT [PDF]
Condensed matter theory is the study of systems at finite density. In this thesis we will attempt to argue that gauge-gravity dualities can give deep and meaningful insights into the behaviour of strongly coupled condensed matter systems. The first three

Additive manufacturing provides precise control over the placement of continuous fibres within polymer matrices, enabling customised mechanical performance in composite components. This article explores processing strategies, mechanical testing, and modelling approaches for additive manufactured continuous fibre‐reinforced composites.

Time‐Dependent Oxidation and Scale Evolution of a Wrought Co/Ni‐Based Superalloy
This study shows how a new wrought Co/Ni‐based superalloy resists oxidation at 800 ∘$^\circ$C. The oxide scale changes from rough, fast‐growing spinel to a dense, protective chromia–alumina layer. Atom probe analysis reveals tiny refractory‐rich bubbles at the interface that mark the transition to long‐term, diffusion‐controlled protection ...

Holography of broken U(1) symmetry
We examine the Abelian Higgs model in (d + 1)-dimensional anti-de Sitter space with an ultraviolet brane. The gauge symmetry is broken by a bulk Higgs vacuum expectation value triggered on the brane.

Karl Popper and the Mechanisms of Hydrogen Embrittlement
Representation of the beginning of loss of ductility rather than embrittlement. Small concentrations of hydrogen in a diffusible form within iron are well‐established to harm the mechanical integrity of steels. There are theories that attempt to explain the pernicious role of hydrogen.
