Hypersonic flow control using magneto-hydrodynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The focus of the present work is on the use of magneto hydrodynamics as a flow control device for supersonic and hypersonic vehicles. A three dimensional parabolized Navier Stokes solver was developed to take into account the effects of magnetic ...

Harnessing Phase Separation for the Development of High‐Performance Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hydrogels are indispensable for the development of next‐generation bioelectronics, soft robotics, and biomedical devices, where their mechanical properties determine performance and reliability. Among strategies to enhance hydrogel mechanics, phase separation enables controlled heterogeneity resulting in gel networks that are reinforced by ...

Hybrid thermalization in the large N limit

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Semi-holography provides a formulation of dynamics in gauge theories involving both weakly self-interacting (perturbative) and strongly self-interacting (non-perturbative) degrees of freedom.

ROS‐Responsive Nanobubbles for Dual‐Enhanced Ultrasound and Magnetic Resonance Imaging of Tumor Oxidative Stress

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We report the development of biotinylated PEGylated bilirubin‐coated perfluoropentane (bt‐PEG‐BR@PFP) nanobubbles, a novel class of ROS‐activatable and dual‐modality contrast agents that amplify both ultrasound (US) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) signals in response to elevated ROS.

Adhesion‐Driven Removal of Microplastics From Aquatic Systems by Using Microgel Glues

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Soft polymeric microgels function as “glues” that aggregate diverse microplastics through multivalent adhesion, promoting their interfacial deposition and co‐precipitation for efficient removal from water. Remarkably, this approach remains effective even for nanoscale plastic particles as small as 50 nm.

A complex scalar field theory for charged fluids, superfluids, and fracton fluids

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We propose a field-theoretic framework for ideal hydrodynamics of charged relativistic fluids formulated in terms of a complex scalar field defined on a spacelike hypersurface comoving with the fluid.

Self‐Accelerating Bimetallic Peroxide Nanozymes for Cascade‐Amplified Pyroptosis‐Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Acidic tumor microenvironment‐responsive CuZnONPs enable triple‐combination therapy via self‐supplying H2O2, cascade nanozyme activities for ROS burst, and Zn2+‐activated pyroptosis, synergizing catalytic therapy with immunotherapy to convert cold tumors into hot ones.

Generalised hydrodynamics of T T ¯ $$ \textrm{T}\overline{\textrm{T}} $$ -deformed integrable quantum field theories

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
In this paper we evaluate the averages of conserved densities and currents associated to charges of generic spin in (1+1)-dimensional massive integrable Quantum Field Theories perturbed by the irrelevant T T ¯ $$ \textrm{T}\overline{\textrm{T ...

Multiscale Architecture and Mechanics of the Cell Nucleus: Implications for Disease, Bioengineering and Nanomedicine

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nuclear mechanical properties are inherently scale‐dependent, arising from a hierarchical architecture that spans DNA, chromatin, the nuclear envelope, and condensates. Experimental techniques and theoretical models are integrated into a cohesive multiscale framework linking nanoscale structural features to organelle‐level mechanical behavior.

Large charge operators at large spin from relativistically rotating vortices

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We study the ground states of CFTs with a global U(1) symmetry on ℝ × S 2 in the regime of large charge Q and large angular momentum J, using large charge EFT.
