Dilute random-field Ising models and uniform-field antiferromagnets

open access: yesPhysical Review B, 1985
The order-parameter susceptibility χ of dilute Ising models with random fields and dilute antiferromagnets in a uniform field are studied for low temperatures and fields with use of low-concentration expansions, scaling theories, and exact solutions on the Cayley tree to elucidate the behavior near the percolation threshold at concentration pc.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Performance of an Automatic Variable-Rate Fertilization System Subject to Different Initial Field Water Conditions and Fertilizer Doses in Paddy Fields

open access: yesAgronomy, 2023
High-performance fertilization equipment with high uniformity is essential for the improvement of fertilizer use efficiency in paddies. The performance of these fertigation systems might be affected by the initial field conditions and fertilizer doses ...

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Open-ended microwave oven with E-field uniformity

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering
In this paper, a new open-ended microwave oven with E-field uniformity has been proposed for microelectronics packaging curing. The open-ended oven contains three dielectrics and an air-filled section, being physically open at one end but electrically ...

Sub-Pixel Response Measurement of Near-Infrared Sensors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Wide-field survey instruments are used to efficiently observe large regions of the sky. To achieve the necessary field of view, and to provide a higher signal-to-noise ratio for faint sources, many modern instruments are undersampled.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.
