Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

Interactions Between Trade Policy and Labor Market Policy and Their Effects on Development [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
[Excerpt] Studies of various countries show that those which have emphasized an export-led growth strategy have, in general, outperformed those which have followed an import substitution orientation.

Finite Fields

open access: yesFormalized Mathematics
Summary We continue the formalization of field theory in Mizar. Here we prove existence and uniqueness of finite fields by constructing the splitting field of the polynomial X(pn) −X over the prime field of a field with characteristic p.

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Visual field.

open access: yesCollegium antropologicum, 2013
This article is dedicated to main information about visual field, monocular and binocular ranges of visual field including their defects. Visual field loss may occur to disease of the eye, optic nerve or brain. Typical changes are present at glaucoma and macular degeneration. Visual pathway is also mentioned.

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

Molecular characterisation of human penile carcinoma and generation of paired epithelial primary cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Generation of two normal and tumour (cancerous) paired human cell lines using an established tissue culture technique and their characterisation is described. Cell lines were characterised at cellular, protein, chromosome and gene expression levels and for HPV status.
