Correlated Charge Transport in an Organic Coulomb Glass

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Advances in the development of organic field‐effect transistors (OFETs), electrically gated organic semiconductors (EGOFETs), and organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs) allow for the operation of these devices at very high charge‐carrier densities, where Coulomb interactions between carriers can be expected to become significant.

Chiral Metal Halide Perovskites for Spin‐Polarized Light‐Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Chiral metal–halide perovskites offer a route to circularly polarized light without external polarizers. This Perspective compares two spin‐light emitting diode concepts: intrinsically chiral emissive layers and chiral spin‐filter interlayers that inject spin‐polarized carriers into efficient achiral emitters.

Conductive Hydrogels for Exogenous Sensing and Cell Fate Control

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We engineer electrically conductive hydrogels by combining sulfated glycosaminoglycans with semiconducting polymers. These hydrogels bind bioactive proteins, including growth factors, whose release or retention can be modulated by low‐voltage stimulation. The hydrogels are also integrated as 3D channels in organic electrochemical transistors as part of

Seti Figure of Merit

International Astronomical Union Colloquium, 1997
AbstractWe develop a figure of merit for SETI observations which is anexplicitfunction of the EIRP of the transmitters, which allows us to treat sky surveys and targeted searches on the same footing. For each EIRP, we calculate the product of terms measuring the number of stars within detection range, the range of frequencies searched, and the number ...

Figures of merit for color scanners

IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 1997
In the design and evaluation of color scanners and cameras, it is useful to have a single figure of merit that closely agrees with perceived color accuracy. In the past, several measures of goodness for color scanning filters have been proposed to fulfil such a requirement.

Transducer figure of merit (L)

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2012
An alternative formula for determining the volume-referenced, projector-transducer figure of merit, FOMv, is developed allowing an evaluation based on well known parameters that may be readily calculated or measured. This formula is also reduced to the special case of piezoelectric or magnetostrictive materials, allowing a FOMv comparison of transducer
